6 Types Of Fuel Used In Cars

There usually six types of fuel used in cars, and (6 types of fuels are available in market). Care is increasing day by day, and demand for fuel is increasing, so we are running out of fuel. Because of this, car-makers company is trying to build different types of fuel cars.

It is easy to describe ideal green energy source for existing cars: fuel that is least polluting and performs well with low consumption — and overall rational spending.

What could be fuel that has all these characteristics? Petrol-electric hybrids, fully electric vehicles, diesel, natural gas or bio-fuel. The question is quite difficult. All these fuels have many possibilities, but there are economic and technical challenges associated with all these types of fuels.

Fuel Types for cars

Today we will know what kind of fuel we use in car. And if any fuel used for our car or car performance will be good and care engine will be active. And we will know how a fuel pollutes environment and which fuel will be best for your car.

First one is – Gasoline

The most used Gasoline or petrol in car, because it is so easily available and very useful. Its price is much lower.

Gasoline or petrol a liquid-mixture derived/derived from petroleum. It preferably used as a fuel in the internal combustion engine. Its vaporization temperature is minus 62 degrees (Celsius), that is, its vapor is combustible at normal temperatures. For this reason, it placed in the category of highly combustible materials. Historically lead used in gasoline, but removed year 2000.

It used on a priority basis in many cold countries because at very low temperatures its flammability is higher than rest of the fuels. At normal temperature, it has a density of 740 kg per cubic meter which is lighter than water (1000).

The first internal combustion engines suitable for use in transportation applications, so-called Otto engines, developed in Germany during last quarter of the 19th century.

Diesel

Diesel the most commonly used fuel for track, buses, trains, boats, Aircraft, Military vehicles, Tractors and heavy equipment, machinery, and other vehicles. Diesel price much lower than petrol, That’s why they used in remote vehicles.

Mede with diesel and crude oils like petrol. Diesel made through a process called “fractional distillation” that separates parts of crude oil. Whose fuel combustion occurs without any spark. Whose fuel combustion occurs without any spark, as a result of the condensation of the inlet air mixture and then of the fuel injection.

Diesel fuel containers must have a yellow color. Diesel fuel containers must have yellow color and gasoline comes in a red container. Chemical combination of diesel is usually C14H30.

There are usually five types of diesel –

  • Petroleum diesel
  • Synthetic diesel
  • Biodiesel
  • Hydrogenated oils and fats
  • DME

Bio-diesel

Bio-diesel means that it a vegetable oil, animal fat-based diesel fuel. Biodiesel usually chemically produced by fatty acid esters by lipid reaction.

Usually, this diesel engine can used in a car by mixing biodiesel and petrodiesel. Since biodiesel tends to dissolve dirt and other factors in the fuel line, fuel filters get stuck fast and should changed frequently.

Liquified Petroleum

Liquified Petroleum gas made by a flammable mixture of hydrocarbon gases. The short form of this gas is LPG or LP gas. This gas used in various places, such as for Cooking purposes, Motor fuel, Conversion to gasoline, and Refrigeration.

Liquified Petroleum, when used as fuel for vehicles, normally called autogas. Liquified Petroleum used almost every car in US. And UK this fuel used in hybrid cars. This gas used more and more in cars every day. This gas is much cheaper and readily available than other fuel.

Compressed Natural Gas

The most commonly used fuel in our list Compressed natural gas (CNG). This fuel can used in place of gasoline, Diesel fuel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). Compressed natural gas (CNG) is used as the main fuel in many countries in world. For example, Iran, Brazil, Pakistan, Argentina, and India are used in these countries.

This fuel available at half price compared to other fuel, so its use is increasing day by day.

Advantages for Compressed natural gas (CNG)

  • Natural gas car maintenance cost very low compared to hydrocarbons fuel.
  • Prevents fuel loss from evaporation.
  • CNG does not contaminate and dilute the crankcase oil.
  • Compressed natural gas can easily mixed with air when it fueled by air.
  • CNG available at half price compared to other fuel.
  • CNG is less likely to ignite on hot surfaces.
  • CNG is much safer than other fuels.
  • Less pollution and more efficiency

Ethanol

Ethanol a type of ethyl alcohol-fueled. This fuel has used in the vehicle by combining different types of fuels. You can use 100 percent ethanol in your car if you want. Ethanol blended fuel widely used in Brazil, the United States, and Europe.

Ethanol fuel has a “gasoline gallon equivalents” (GET) value of 1.5, i.e. to replace the energy of 1 volume of gasoline, 1.5 times volume of ethanol needed.

There are two different methods of preparing it:

  • Synthesis method – By adsorbing ethylene gas in concentrated sulfuric acid, ethyl hydrogen sulfate formed which when boiled with water hydrolyzed to give ethyl alcohol. The prevalence of this method is not yet high.
  • Sterilization method – Through this, alcohols are made in commercial quantities from any sugary substance (sugar cane, glucose, salt, mahoe flower, etc.) or starchy substance (potato, rice, barley, corn, etc.).

Conclusion

These six types of fuel are commonly used in cars, but now there are many new fuels. For example Electric cars. Different models of cars driven by different fuels that you need to know what oil my car runs with.

New and new fuels are coming to the market on a regular basis and these are being brought into market by experiment and testing because set that people use will benefit.

Before buying a car you need to determine what is the price of fuel. You need to plan to buy a car that is lower than current price of fuel in the market.
